First Day Orientation

Your First Day at Lincoln College

It is very important that you attend the first day of class and equally important that you come prepared. On the first day you'll want to bring:

  • Your class schedule
  • A pen or pencil
  • A notebook or binder
  • Your textbook

What happens on the first day of class?

The first day of class is your introduction to the course. You will meet your instructor who will provide you with the course syllabus. The syllabus - a summary or outline of the course - will describe the content and requirements of the class, including what will be expected of you and how you will be evaluated. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and get acquainted with your classmates. Expect to begin work on the first day.

How do I find my way around?

Don't worry about getting lost! Lincoln College staff, faculty and administrators will be happy to help you find your classes and answer any questions you may have. Don't be afraid to ask for directions. The best way to prepare for your first day - and your first semester - is to attend "New Student Orientation".

You'll also want to keep in mind this list of "Classroom Do's and Don'ts":
