IELTS Exam Preparation

This course helps students to prepare for the IELTS exam by consolidating their language skills and giving additional practice in grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Students will learn about the IELTS test itself and the kind of exam questions and tasks that they will have to complete to achieve their target score.

IELTS is the standard English language component of the entry qualifications requested by most British and Australian colleges and universities. More and more it is also becoming acceptable to American and other international establishments of further and higher education.

In addition, obtaining a good score in the IELTS test is now an important part of the entry requirements for international people who wish to work in the UK in fields such as nursing. IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System, and it is jointly managed by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL), the British Council and IDP Education Australia: IELTS Australia. Most colleges in the UK will probably ask students to score about 5.5 or above for entry and most universities will ask for about 6.5 for entry to an undergraduate course. IELTS scores requested vary between different educational establishments, so it is important to check what score is required for the course that you are interested in.

IELTS is accepted by over 6,000 institutions around the world, including universities, colleges and employers in English-speaking countries and beyond. In fact, almost all universities in the UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand accept IELTS.
